Yes. Hariom Helps Foundation is a US 501(c)(3) public charity. Every successful donation generates a sequential receipt that you can download from your donor dashboard, formatted to satisfy IRS substantiation requirements.

How do funds actually reach the school?

We collect donations into our nonprofit account. When a student's funding goal is reached, our admin team makes a payment directly to the bursar or fee account of the student's school and uploads a payout proof you can view.

How are students verified?

Each student uploads three items: proof of enrollment from their school, a government-issued ID, and income or need documentation. Our team reviews every application before the student appears on the public browse page.

How are donors verified?

Donors verify their email and complete a short KYC step — legal name, address, and ID/address proof. This protects both donors and student recipients and helps us comply with US nonprofit standards.

Can I choose which student to fund?

Yes. Browse the Students page, read each student's story, and donate toward their remaining tuition. If you prefer, you can also donate to the general fund and we'll allocate it to the next verified student in line.

What if a student's goal is already met?

Once a student is fully funded, their card moves to a 'Fully funded' state and the donate button is disabled. New donations roll to other students or the general fund.

Do you accept recurring donations?

Yes. You can set up monthly giving at $25 (Friend), $50 (Supporter), or $100 (Champion) per month from the Monthly giving section of the Donate page. Your card is charged automatically each month and every payment generates its own tax receipt. Active monthly donors are also auto-verified for full student profile access.

How do I set up a recurring donation?

Go to the Donate page, scroll to Monthly giving, pick your monthly amount, and complete secure checkout. Your first gift is charged immediately and then on the same day each month.

Can I change, pause, or cancel my monthly gift?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any time and with no fees. Open your donor dashboard and choose Manage monthly giving to open the secure billing portal, where you can update your card, change the amount, or cancel. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Where do monthly donations go?

Recurring gifts flow into the general fund so we can allocate them to the next verified students in line and cover urgent school fees as they arise. One-time gifts can still be directed to a specific student.

Can I donate anonymously?

Yes — when you donate you can choose to hide your name from the student's public funder list. Your name still appears on your own receipt for tax purposes.

Does my employer match my donation?

Many employers match charitable gifts dollar-for-dollar, and some match volunteer hours too. Hariom Helps Foundation is a US 501(c)(3) public charity, so we are eligible on most corporate giving platforms (Benevity, YourCause, Bright Funds, Millie, Deed and similar). You can either donate here and submit the receipt for a match, or start the gift directly from your company's giving portal — search for 'Hariom Helps Foundation'.
